Pure Direct
It’s all about the music. The shorter the signal path, the better the music. Pure Direct is about as short a signal path as you can get. Pure Direct mode shuts down all unneccesary processing to give you the purest most accurate audio signal possible. Pure Direct can now be used on any incoming audio signal including HDMI. To give you the best experience possible, we even shut off the front video panel to reduce distortion. You will know Pure Direct by its telltale blue light. Put in any material like a CD, DVD, or Blu-Ray disc and press that simple clear button on the front of your receiver. Listen, if just for an instant, and you will know what joy that little blue light can bring.

If you want to watch a movie or play a video game, do not use Pure Direct as the video section will be turned off with Pure Direct mode. Instead, try Straight Mode or Straight Enhancer.
