Zone Sources

Zone Sources

What can they play?

The Yamaha receivers can all play different sources in another Zone starting with the RX-V563, but what sources can be played back? The easiest answer is that all sources can be played in a 2nd or 3rd Zone. Listen to AM, FM, XM, Sirius, an iPod, CD, DVD, Blu-Ray, Internet Radio, HD Radio, etc., out on your porch or in your bedroom. Simply connect a pair of analog cables in addition to the digital ones from the source to the receiver. Radio sources and proprietary connections like the YBA-10 or YDS-11 do not need additional cables.Receiver Specifics: The RX-V563 requires the use of a separate power amplifier to power the 2nd Zone but the RX-V663 and up can use the internal amplifiers if desired. The RX-V1800 and 3800 offer the use of a 3rd Zone and can power that off of the internal amplifiers if necessary. RX-V663 and up can use the internal amplifiers if desired.
